Back of the book:
With nothing to their names, young widow Rosa Garner and her mother-in-law return to their Texas family ranch. Only now the county is demanding back taxes and the women have just three months to pay.

Though facing eviction, Rosa falls in love with the countryside and the wonderful extended family who want only her best. They welcome her vivacious spirit and try to help her navigate puzzling American customs. She can’t help but stand out, though, and her beauty captures attention. Where some offer help with dangerous strings attached, only one man seems honorable. But when Weston Garner, still grieving his own lost love, is unprepared to give his heart, Rosa must decide to what lengths she will go to save her future.

My thoughts:

Sixty Acres and a Bride is the debut novel of Regina Jennings. It is a wonderful retelling of the Ruth, Naomi and Boaz story from the Bible. The author has changed the location and time frame and added in a few other details that make the story plausible in that setting. I completely lost myself in this story. Because I am very familiar with the original storyline, I knew where this was going, but I still enjoyed the tale that the author wove together.

Many seasoned authors would tell you that there is always room to improve on their craft. While I agree with that statement, I must say that Regina has done an amazing job for a first work. I am really looking forward to reading whatever else she puts on paper. I didn’t feel as if the words were stumbling or halting, instead they flowed and drew you from page to page and chapter to chapter. I stayed up way too late finishing this one!

Covers rarely sway me whether to read the book or not. But I must say this cover is beautiful. I love the muted colors and the fact that you don’t get a full on glimpse of Rosa’s face. I prefer to conjure up a description of the characters in my mind. I look forward to sharing this title with my friends and fellow book clubbers. You can’t go wrong with this one, so pick it up!

  2. Typically taxpayers are not able to take care of their whole back taxes not necessarily due to the tax debt, however as a result of added charges and interest that accumulate each and every month. This is probably the reason why so many taxpayers ask about the Penalty Abatement solution, on the other hand that isn't a fairly easy solution to generally be accepted for, and also there are qualifications that are demanded. The IRS' motive is to obtain just about every final dime in back taxes therefore the cause to take off fees and penalties really need to be real and able to be proven. Observe where the likelihood of getting qualified lie at this site: http://tax-defense-network-irs-programs.com/tax-defense-network-penalty-abatement/

  3. Tax Defense Network understands that it is difficult for many taxpayers who are in tax debt to repay the full amount of debt in one payment.
