Back of the book:

Do you ever feel like faith just isn’t as exciting as you thought it would be?

You know God loves you, but you don’t feel very loved. From time to time, going to church and reading the Bible seem . . . well, a little blah.

Jenna Lucado Bishop shares her testimony and others’ stories to explore what a radical, living relationship with God looks like and how the Bible can help you hunger and thirst for more of God. You’ll discover how to keep your faith fresh and vibrant and alive.

About Jenna Lucado Bishop
Daughter of best-selling author Max Lucado, Jenna Lucado Bishop has realized that she has a passion for writing and speaking just like her dad. She is currently a part of the Revolve Tour, an event for teen girls that includes Christian artists like Hawk Nelson, Chad Eastham, and many more.

My thoughts:

From Blah to Awe is a wonderful hands on book designed to encourage teenage girls in their walk of faith. Jenna Lucado Bishop has broken the book up into two sections. The first section is called Why Do I Get Bored with God? In this portion the author discusses through personal references and testimonies of others, reasons why we have slumps in our relationship with God.  The stories let you know that this is common among teenagers.

The second section is entitled Does God Care if I Am Bored With Him?  In this portion the reader is reminded that no matter what we’ve done, how we look or even how we act, God loves us. The blah in the relationship always comes from us.

Throughout the book there are plenty of opportunities for introspection. Space is left for the reader to make notes on the parts that have struck a chord with them.  Ms. Bishop does an amazing job of following in her father’s storyteller footsteps. She has a wonderful ability to bring biblical truths to a level that allows understanding without compromising the content.
