A Walk One Winter Night by Al Andrews ~ Christmas Book Review

Fiction/Christmas

What started as a simple, late night stroll to clear his head from the pressures and hassles of life turned into a life changing moment.

Are your eyes open to the wonder you might experience on a walk of your own?

My thoughts:

For such a small book it has a great big message. When was the last time you took a moment to contemplate the nativity scene and really focus on the real people behind the plastic lawn ornaments?

A Walk One Winter Night takes us on a walk with an anonymous man that really could be any of us. He's gone on a walk to clear his head and finds himself drawn to a decorative nativity scene on the neighbor's lawn. While standing there contemplating the scene he is drawn deeper into the age old story and the reality of who the characters really were.

I found this to be a very moving book that whispered a truth that we all need to hear. It is easy to get caught up in the crazy of the season but we all need to remember what really happened and the purpose of it. The simplicity of the words and the artwork add to the depth of the truth being spoken.

If I were independently wealthy I would send this out as my Christmas card this year. While I can't do that, I do plan on sending it to a select group of friends and family. My copy is definitely going on my Christmas book shelf to be savored for years to come.
