Back of the book:

Introduce your children to the greatest friend they'll ever know.

All Christian parents want their children to know and love the Lord. My Friend Jesus not only tells little ones the gospel story about Jesus but also gently introduces them to a personal relationship with Him. Written in fresh, clear, easy-to-understand language for children of all ages and denominations, the book ends with a tender prayer that guides children into that life-changing friendship with Jesus.

My thoughts:

As parents we all want our children to have wonderful lifelong friendships. But of all those relationships there is only one that really matters. It is that One that will forever change their lives and the lives around them.

Introducing our children to Jesus is the most important thing we can do as parents. It can be a daunting task that can easily get mired in heavy theological details. The beauty of My Friend Jesus is that it gives the account of Jesus in a very easy to understand conversational style format.

The author begins the book with the birth of Christ and takes it completely through His childhood, ministry and death on the cross. She then explains about Christ rising from the dead and then ascending to heaven to reside beside His Father. At the very end of the book the child is lead through the sinner's prayer and provided the opportunity to accept Christ as their Savior.

I love this book because of its simplicity in presenting a complex message in a way that your young child will understand. It truly is the greatest story ever told!
