My Thoughts

Do your kids love their veggies? Mine do! Okay to be honest they love their veggies as in Bob and Larry and all the other VeggieTales characters. We have spent countless hours laughing over the silly antics while learning very valuable lessons about life.

The newest addition to our VeggieTale collection is the VeggieTales Super Comics Vol. 1. The first story is Lyle the Kindly Viking. In it we meet up with sweet little Lyle. He's a different sort of viking. He has a tender heart and just doesn't agree with all the unsavory antics of his fellow vikings. As you follow along and watch him right the wrongs you'll be able to use this to teach your kiddos about sharing.

The next story is Dave and the Giant Pickle. Of course if you have seen the video you know that it is based on the story of David and Goliath. This story teaches many things but it focuses in on self-esteem. The final story is my oldest grandson's favorite, LarryBoy and the Prideosaurus. Anything involving Super LarryBoy is right up his alley. This particular episode focuses on humility and that's a trait we could all use more of.

The book is written in a comic book form and it is just perfect for my kids. The stories are familiar but this new layout makes it seem like a different story. We all enjoyed it very much. There is just something about comic books and boys they just seem to go together. (Of course girls will like them too!) If you are looking for a new twist on some familiar and beloved stories I would encourage you to pick up a copy of this great children's book.
