Plain Wisdom by Cindy Woodsmall and Miriam Flaud

Plain Wisdom by Cindy Woodsmall and Miriam Flaud
Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into An Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women
Cindy Woodsmall & Miriam Flaud
Nonfiction / Amish

When I first requested Plain wisdom I assumed it to be another story about the Amish. However when I received the book I was excited to see that Miriam Flaud was an Old Order Amish woman who had never written before and that She with Cindy Woodsmall had written about their everyday lives and the things they have learned in Plain Wisdom.

The whole time I was reading I felt as though I was sitting around a table with coffee discussing the life stories of two women very much like me! I felt uplifted, encourage and that I also being a believer could relate to both women’s life stories and lessons learned. It was personal! This is a book that I will keep. It is full of recipes and like the title says wisdom!

I was impressed with this book and really enjoyed learning about the Amish life and how much believers have in common no matter if we are Amish or a Best Selling author!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review!

Bon Appetit (French Twist #2) by Sandra Byrd | Contemporary Fiction Review

Bon Appetit (French Twist #2) by Sandra Byrd
Bon Appetit
French Twist, #2
Sandra Byrd
Contemporary Fiction

I loved this book! Byrd has once again out done herself in this novel. Lexi is off to pastry school in Paris!

Byrd does an excellent job of painting pictures with her words. Throughout the book I felt as though I were experiencing life in Paris with Lexi. I could also relate to Lexi wanting to do what she loves. Throughout the book Lexi faces setbacks, culture shock, and homesickness. Will she choose to stay in Paris or return home to all she knows???

I would recommend this book to people who love food. Sandra Byrd is an excellent writer and I look forward to book three!

Winter Storm!

Well I just watched the news and there seems to be a huge storm heading our way. I have baked cookies and we have stuff for sandwiches! The only good thing is that if it's bad Hubby won't have school. I'm really hoping it's not that bad but we shall see. So this brings me to my question for you!

What are your plans or ideas for being snowed and or iced in? Are you going to be running to the store tomorrow? Luckily I went to Dillon's on Saturday!

First post!

Eyes of Elisha by Brandilyn Collins
Well I have decided to start my own blog! As the title suggest I will be blogging about any and everything from books, to coupons, and anything else my mind can think of!

First topic of the day!

What am I currently reading?

At the moment I am reading Eyes of Elisha by Brandilyn Collins. This is the first book I have read by Collins. I started the book and was quickly captivated by the book. I am now on chapter fifty-four and I am so mad! I have never been mad at a book before! I hope to finish it tonight. I will then let you know my final thoughts!

What am I doing today?

Today I was pretty tired I had stayed up the night before until 3am reading Eyes of Elisha. When I finally put the book up I was restless because the book had made me mad. So this morning when Hubby woke me up for church I was a grump and we ended up only going to service and not small group. We came home I made lunch and hubby is studying, Lil' guy is napping and I am typing this!

Oh and I am not looking forward to this week's weather. We are suppose to get snow and ice. :(

Questions for you!

Have any good recipes? What are you reading?

Well that is all for now! Have a great Sunday and stay warm.
