Back of the book:

Wonderfully Different ~ Incredibly Loved!

These three adorable bear cubs look different, sound different, and choose different dinners, but Mama Bear and Papa Bear still love them all the same! Full of sweetness and silliness, this story reassures brothers and sisters that each of them is incredibly loved and that God put them together into just the right family.

My thoughts:

I think that it is probably universal that siblings will at some point think that a parent favors one child over another. While this is rarely true, it is still an issue that comes up and needs addressed. In Donna Keith's sweet book I Love You All the Same three sibling bear cubs explore their differences and are constantly assured that although they are each unique their parents love them all the same.

This would be a great resource for adoptive and/or multi-racial families because the message is clear that the skin that covers your bones isn't what makes you so lovable. It also isn't your talents or your likes or your dislikes for that matter. What makes you so lovable is that God created you to be you and that's what matters.

I like to give a basket of books as a baby shower gift. This book will now be at the top of my list to include in that bundle. The illustrations are beautiful and the message is one that we all need to hear from the time we are born to our very last breath.

  1. Even though our daughters are seven years apart, we express love to them with hugs and kisses, kind and loving words, and spending time with them.

  2. Right now I only have one little one. But we plan to have more some day so this would be a wonderful book to introduce her to the life of having siblings!

  3. I don't have any children of my own and I only have one nephew. However, he has a baby brother or sister coming in December. His mama is a little concerned about sibling rivalry and I would love to pass this book to them.

  4. I let my children know I love them both the same, but let them feel special for different things. I love my 5 year old because he's such a big helper or I love my 2 year old because she's so sweet!
