Disney Frozen Where's Olaf? Game | Board Game Review

Disney Frozen Where's Olaf? Game

Wonder Forge product review disclosure.

Ages:4+
2 or more players

A HIDE-AND-SEEK GAME
OF HOTTER AND COLDER CLUES!

Join your friends from Disney Frozen in a clever game of hide-and-seek! Players ask questions and use deduction to figure out where Olaf could be. Is he in a room with a tub? Is he in a room with a pillow? Each question gets a HOTTER or COLDER answer. When you get the chance to go look, see if you can find Olaf before the time runs out!

Playing is as easy as 1 . . . 2 . . . 3
  1. One player hides Olaf somewhere in the house.
  2. Ask questions and get clues about where he could be hiding.
  3. Now hurry and find him!

My Thoughts

If you dread playing one more game of hide-and-seek with your kids then you need to get this game. I don't know if the developers intended this to be as hilarious as it was in our house but we (the adults) laughed ourselves silly.

Here's a bit of what we learned. If the 4-year-old is the one hiding Olaf an adult should witness where it is placed. Let's just say the concept of hotter and colder doesn't always make sense when applied by said 4-year-old. But the confusion can be absolutely hysterical.

I can't recommend this game highly enough. It is very kid-friendly and all adults as long as they are young-at-heart and willing to play along will enjoy it. We played it with kids, parents, and grandparents. On that note I should probably add that sneaky Poppy's should also be supervised when hiding Olaf!

My Thoughts

As a grandmother I perfer to get my grandkids gifts that expand their knowledge and imagination while still providing entertainment. Disney's Imagicademy products strike that balance so I have invested in several different products.

This time I chose Disney Pixar Finding Dory Bubble Science. It is designed for 4-8 year olds, but quite honestly we were all enamored with the different experiments. It was fun to gather around the table and try out the various activities listed in the guide book. We also enjoyed letting the kids experiment on their own.

The whole thing was fun but I really appreciated how you can explain the experiment, let the child do the experiment, and then have them explain the results. It a much better way to help them retain what they are learning. Reading items in a book is great but getting to actually experience the activity is so much better.

I recommend this product to families that have younger children, especially those that homeschool. This would be a great indoor activity to fill those long indoor winter days.

Disney's Pictopia Board Game from Wonder Forge ~ Christmas Gift Guide

It's a game of teamwork--with a competitive twist! Along the way are guess-my-answer questions that reveal how much you know about the other players!

My Thoughts

During the cold winter months and especially around the holidays our family plays a lot of games in the evenings. We like to choose ones that allow everyone to play regardless of the age. When we first received Disney Pictopia I was a bit worried that it would not work for all of us. I'm not talking about the kiddos, I'm talking about the adults! As the grandma of the bunch I am familiar with classic Disney but the current shows are just off my radar.

I am pleased to say that it was a hit with all of us. The questions were a great mix of old and new. As with the other Pictopia games the cards that contain the questions are made up of picture clues for the answers. That was a great bonus for the little ones playing. There were times that they recognized the character but couldn't verbalize the correct name. For those of us that are just a bit older, the pictures gave wonderful contextual clues.

The game set up is easy. There are enough pieces for six individuals to play. There are too many of us to play individually so we used teams. That worked perfectly because we paired an adult with a child. Between my grandchild and I we were able to master most of the questions.

The recommended age is 7+ which seems appropriate if you are doing individual play. We have a 4, 5 and 6 year old that also wanted to play. With the pictures on the cards and adults on the teams it worked nicely.

If your family likes to play board games together you really should get this game. I'm sure that our family is going to benefit from hours of fun with it.

Disney Pictopia Family Trivia Game can be purchased at Barnes and Noble, Toys R Us and Target

Disney Frozen Matching Game from Wonder Forge ~ A Review and Giveaway

If your kiddos are like most American children, they have gone totally crazy for Disney Frozen. I know it is all the rage at our house. I'm thinking it is total payback for making my family watch The Little Mermaid over and over and over.

I don't mind my kids watching a video now and then but I don't want them to be glued to the TV. So to lure them away and get them using some of their brain cells we play board games at our house. When we received the Disney Frozen Matching Game from Wonder Forge it was game on!

The game comes with three different sets of tiles that can be used separately or all together. Once I broke them apart I put them in three separate baggies inside the box. I don't know about your house, but at our house there are days when the kids need some "self time" and it is handy to have them separate this way. I just pull out a baggie for each kid and send them to different areas to play quietly by themselves.

We have a two-year-old that thinks he's as big as everyone else. The blessing of this game is that it is versatile enough that I can sit and play a matching game with just him. We just use one of the packs of 12 tiles and he has so much fun. It is very manageable for him and gives him a great sense of accomplishment.

When the older kiddo wants to play we use more of the tiles. When the two kids are playing we usually use two packs of tiles. But when friends are over we use all 72 of the tiles. I really love that this game is so adaptable to the many needs of our family. Did I happen to mention that it is portable and it uses NO BATTERIES?!!

All the major retailers are carrying this game so go grab your family a copy. It is Springtime and you know that there are going to be rainy afternoons in your future. This is a guaranteed sanity savor!

The wonderful people at Wonder Forge have partnered with us to giveaway a copy of Disney Frozen Matching Game to one of our readers. If you would like a chance at winning for your family just use the Rafflecopter form below. The giveaway is open to all U.S. residents that are 18 and older.
