Last week I told you about the challenge I received from Coupons.com and JCPenney. They gave me $100 and told me I could use any of their coupons to make two complete outfits. For the first outfit I came up with a cute skinny jean outfit!

I had a little bit of money left so I began thinking about what my second outfit should be. I decided to go with the ultimate staple for any great wardrobe and get a little black dress. What’s not to love about the LBD? You can dress it up or down, it works for cocktail parties and funerals, Sunday morning church and a night out on the town. Every woman needs one and JCPenney has a great selection at some pretty impressive prices.

I chose the Alyx® Solid Sheath Dress. I loved the price and the fit but let me tell you my favorite thing about it . . . it is MACHINE WASHABLE!!! I want to look chic when I’m out on the town with my man but let’s face it that’s not when I’ll wear it the most. My two little cherubs are precious to me but they tend to leave behind residue and being able to launder the dress instead of constantly taking it to the cleaners makes it a double bargain. Now it’s your turn to tell me what you think.

What is your favorite way to wear a little black dress?

Recently Coupons.com contacted me with a challenge to “Show My Savvy Style”! They gave me a $100 limit to JC Penny’s and told me I need to make at least two outfits with it. I was allowed to use any coupons that they had listed. I was able to take advantage of two promotions. The first was a free shipping code on orders over $75 and the second was 20% off orders of $100 or more.

I was a little worried because frankly I’m short and ordering clothing online isn't in my comfort zone. I really like to try things on. But on the other hand I like a good challenge paired with a great deal! The first thing I found was these killer wedges. They looked like so much fun and I thought that I could easily dress them up or down. I decided to combine them with a pair of skinny jeans. From the picture I could tell that the wedges had a lot of coral in them so I decided to stick with that color scheme.

I popped over to the junior department and found this tank and shrug that I thought would look good with the jeans. My next stop was accessories where I found this beautiful coral set. It included the necklace, bracelet and earrings.

While I loved the whole outfit I knew there was no way I could run after my kiddos in those wedges. I’d have to save those for a night out with the hubby! So being the practical mamma that I am I went back to the shoe section and found these cute little flip flops. Now I have an outfit for those mommy play dates.

I still had some money left to spend so I decided to glam it up a bit and go for a new little black dress . . . but you’ll have to come back next week to see that look.

Now it’s your turn to tell me what you think.

When was the last time you shopped online for clothes?

Did you use a coupon code?
