I've talked about babywearing on the blog before and currently own or have owned a few different carriers which include soft structured carriers, slings, mei tais and soft stretchy wraps. When E was an infant, I loved using soft stretchy wraps! The first carrier I ever owned was a popular stretchy wrap but unfortunately, I had to stop using stretchy wraps because she outgrew them and when I would wear her, the wrap would sag.

A few months back I heard about the Baby K'tan Carrier, a soft cotton baby carrier that is a blend of a sling, wrap and carrier. The K'tan provides the positions and benefits of all three types of carriers and can be worn comfortably with infants and toddlers (from birth to 3 years) in multiple positions.

The Baby K'tan is available in sizes XS, Small, Medium, Large and XL and. You can view the size chart on the Baby K'tan website where you can find the sizing chart and sizing tips. The carrier is also available in several colors and styles which can also be found on the website.

The Baby K'tan consists of two pieces, The carrier and a sash which doubles as a storage tote when your Baby K'tan is not in use.

The Baby K'tan is super easy to get on. I'm more of a visual person so I found the visual instructions on the Baby K'tan website and the video tips very helpful.

I was nervous to use the Baby K'tan because I was afraid that my 28 pound toddler was going to stretch it out. When I found out that the carrier is able to withstand up to 35 pounds I was relieved. I spoke to Reina of Baby K'tan who suggested two positions, the hip position and the two-hip position which are great for those moments when your little one wants to be held. These carries are meant more short term use, for example, if you're little one is upset and wants to be held but you need your hands free.

I really like the Two-Hip hold which is very simple! You start out with the Hug Position instructions and right before you would tie the sash, You shift your baby (or in my case toddler) to your side so that their legs are straddling your hip. Afterwards, you would continue with the Hug Hold Instructions and tie the sash. You can check out E and I below using the Two-Hip hold!
