Our thoughts:
What girl doesn’t love a little sparkle? I know I do but what I do not love is the price for that little sparkle.  That is why I was glad to come across Say Hello Diamonds! They offer rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces at all price levels.

For review I was sent the Diamond earrings that were featured on the Today show. I was so excited when I received them. They are a classic style that adds that little sparkle to any outfit. I was really impressed with the size and quality. The next thing on my list from Say Hello Diamonds is a new ring. My ring no longer fits with this pregnancy and I have been eyeing several of their rings. Hmm... Valentine’s Day is coming!

There customer service is great. I noticed that they answer very quickly to their customers even on their facebook page. So really you cannot go wrong with Say Hello Diamonds.

Back of the book:

August 1944. Paris is on the cusp of liberation. As the soldiers of the Third Reich flee the Allied advance, they ravage the country and steal countless pieces of irreplaceable art. In fact, Reichsmarschall Hermann Gรถring will stop at nothing to claim the most valuable one of all—the Mona Lisa—as a postwar bargaining chip.

But the woman with the mysterious smile has some very determined protectors. Can Swiss OSS agents Gabi Mueller and Eric Hofstadler rescue Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece before it falls into German hands?

With nonstop action and intrigue, Chasing Mona Lisa is sure to get your adrenaline pumping as you join the chase to save the most famous painting in the world. From war-ravaged Paris to a posh Swiss chateau, the race is on—and the runners are playing for keeps.

About the Authors:

Image of Tricia Goyer

Tricia Goyer is the coauthor of The Swiss Courier as well as the author of many other books, including Night Song and Dawn of a Thousand Nights, both past winners of the ACFW's Book of the Year Award for Long Historical Romance. Goyer lives with her family in Arkansas. For more about Tricia and her other books TriciaGoyer.com

Mike Yorkey is the author or coauthor of dozens of books, including The Swiss Courier and the bestselling Every Man's Battle series. Married to a Swiss native, Yorkey lived in Switzerland for 18 months. He and his family currently reside in California. For more about Mike and his other books visit MikeYorkey.com

My thoughts:

Chasing Mona Lisa is the second book in this series by Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. Their first endeavor together was The Swiss Courier. I did not read The Swiss Courier before reading Chasing Mona Lisa and I was able to follow the story just fine. Of course now I want to go back and read the first installment to catch all of the elements that I did not even know I was missing out on.

The story is full of intrigue and a bit of romance, but my favorite parts where more about what was going on in the country as a whole. The story opens in the midst of Paris just before the Allies swoop in and liberate the city. We are reminded that Charles de Gaulle and his troops will eventually take leadership in France, but there was another faction that was seeking to take control. Had they prevailed France would have become a communist country. Just think of all the changes that would have meant in our world.

Think about all of the priceless art that we have in our museums. Think about the devastating destruction that wars do to countries. It is completely amazing that we have so much that was preserved. To lose the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory at Samothrace would have been a tragedy, not only for France but for the world.

I really enjoyed that this story had accurate historical elements and that it was told from a French perspective. So much of what we read comes from an American perspective. It was interesting to step into the lives of the French and see it from their vantage point. I think anyone that enjoys a historical story set around World War II will appreciate this piece of work.

Rambles and a Rant on Double Strollers

Don’t mind me just some rambles and a rant about strollers on this sunny Saturday.

So the other day I asked hubby to drop me off at our local Baby store so I could check out some double strollers. He decided to stay in the car with little M while I browsed around.

Well it didn’t take long! I checked out some of their baby outfits and then made my way to the back of the store where right on the first end cap was a Graco double stroller. It looked nice but unlike the rest of the strollers it was up to high for me to try out. I continued to walk around to the stroller isle to see what else they had. Well if you’re in the market for a single stroller they had a surplus to choose from. Every style of single stroller was there. I was starting to get a little disappointed. I mean even our local Target has three different double strollers to choose from.

I had one place left to check the clearance section…. I was thinking hey maybe they are getting in new models and there will be some on CLEARANCE! That would be a big fat NO! Granted this is a baby and toy combo store but COME ON!!!

Anyways, as I left disappointed it occurred to me how much I relay on product review bloggers and their honest opinions, videos, and photos. There are many Mom bloggers, baby websites, and reviews that I have taken for granted. Even on my website I try to always supply my readers with honest information so they can decide if it is a good fit for them as well. Until now I didn’t realize how important my job is.

So if you are in the market like me for a double stroller and since I have yet to review one. Let me point you to one of my favorite sites BabyGizmo.com! I came across this site by another mother and now I am hooked. She doesn’t just offer reviews of strollers but anything baby and family. I have now become familiar with many brands of strollers such as Phil&Teds, Moutain Buggy, Bugaboo, Zooper, Baby Jogger, Stroll Air, Bumbleride, Joovy, and many more!
So head on over to BabyGizmo.com to start drooling Mommas! In the mean time I will work on trying to review one of my own double strollers!

What kind of double stroller did you get? Do you like it? What kind of stroller do you recommend for a double stroller?

Natrual House Cleaners Review and Giveaway @NaturalHousePro

NaturalHouse cleaning products are a true cleaning revolution!

Why is it a "revolution?" Because Natural House probiotic cleaning products brings you a revolutionary, new method of cleaning the most dirty areas of your home. Utilizing non-toxic, probiotic cleaning agents, Natural House products are strong enough for commercial clean-up, yet safe and gentle for all of the members of your Natural House.

Here's a little more info about why our all-natural cleaning products are superior to those.

Well as many of you may know I am pregnant with baby boy #2 and cleaning with harsh chemicals is not an option. I have tried some natural cleaning supplies but nothing seems to match up to bleach. However when you have a toddler and your pregnant you need something besides bleach. This is why I was glad to review Natural House.
First I have to tell you my favorite was Flushy. It actually cleaned as well as bleach! I was very impressed and noticed that even after thirty days it was still quite clean. I love that after hubby cleaned the toilets we did not have to air out the bathroom before I could use it.
My second favorite was Trashy. I loved the minty fresh sent. It is easy to use too. I just spray it on then wipe it down and then I am left with a nice fresh minty sent. I only wish the scent lasted longer. For as far as cleaning goes it works very well and I feel much better when my three old touches the trash can.
My least favorite was Sinky. It won’t be replacing my sink cleaner for me. It maybe because we have a white porcelain sink and it is hard to get it really clean. I didn’t notice any difference while using Sinky. It may have kept my garbage disposal clean but I couldn’t tell. It also didn’t foam for us even when we did what the directions said.  Please remember that these are my honest opinions and may differ from other reviews.

Our thoughts:
When we were chosen to review this product from Fisher-Price I was excited and so was little M. He is at the age where he loves anything trains and especially Thomas.  I am a long time Fisher-Price fan and we have a lot of their products but none of the TrackMaster Sets. At first I was not sure if I was going to like the TrackMaster sets since I have been buying the wooden train sets but now after having both it is like comparing apples and oranges.

What I love about this TrackMaster set is that Little M can put the tracks together, turn Cranky on and off and it keeps him entertained for hours!  I also love that like the wooden train sets I can keep buying pieces to add to the TrackMaster so it is a toy that keeps growing with your child. Another thing I love is that there are no small pieces! With baby #2 due any day we cannot have small pieces but at the same time a three year old need big boy toys and the TrackMaster solves both issues. Overall I am completely satisfied with this TrackMaster set and look forward to buying more.
Little M had to get his Thomas train to play with. He had Flynn push Thomas around the track and then had Cranky lift Thomas up. It is a lot of fun to watch him play and pretend to be Thomas! We love Fisher-Price toys because they make products that are affordable and toys that kids love. So are we brand loyal to Fisher-Price??? You bet!

Guest Post with Author of "What's Wrong With Me?" by Daree Allen @DareeAllen

Currently author Daree Allen, MS is on her Official “What’s Wrong With Me?” Blog Tour. Over a 7 week period she will appear on 35 different blogs and websites.

Can You Be Your Own Mentor?
By Author Daree Allen, MS

With January being National Mentoring month, President Obama recently issued the following proclamation: “Every day, mentors help young Americans face the challenges of growing into adulthood. By setting a positive example and sharing their time, knowledge, and experience, mentors play an essential role in preparing our Nation’s youth for a bright future.” January 2012 marks the 11th Annual National Mentoring Month has the theme, "Invest in the Future: Mentor a Child." It highlights the importance of mentors and the need for every child to have the guidance of a caring adult.

Indeed, adolescence is a critical time for mentoring. Without positive role models, teen girls especially often face a “crisis of confidence” and are especially vulnerable to risky behavior and making bad choices with devastating lifelong consequences. I certainly could have used a mentor when I was growing up--I had no one to help me with certain "growing up girl" issues, or to help foster or reinforce healthy self-esteem. I didn't grow up around extended family or have "built-in" friends (like cousins) at school to have my back. God's grace helped me make it to adulthood.

But mentoring is not just for the kiddies. Could you use a little more mentoring? I sure could. Women in business (whether corporate or entrepreneurs) need professional mentoring too. And SAHMs benefit greatly from the camaraderie of other moms--everything from playdates to mom blogging can benefit from sharing tips and tools with other moms. (Technically I am both, since I work from home.)

You may not be a teenager, or have one, but maybe you need mentoring on a particular subject. How will you do it?

A couple of years ago, I picked up "Be Your Own Mentor" by Anne Bruce because I knew I was going to need help writing my book (a self-help book on teen mentoring, funny enough. And I have not read it yet, but I will!) One thing I can tell you upon skimming it is that it takes a lot of work and discipline to mentor oneself. I already know about self-discipline from working at home for the past 7 years with an 8-year-old daughter, but for most of us, we need accountability from someone we trust, and if that person can be a mentor or coach to us because they've been in the trenches before, so much the better.

Can you be your own mentor? If not, how will you choose one, when, and for what goal?

About Daree Allen:

Daree Allen is an authorpreneur, young adult esteem advocate, speaker, and goal-getter in Atlanta, GA. She has published articles on a variety of topics as a freelance writer and blogger, and is the author of the new teen mentoring book entitled, "What's Wrong With Me?" in which she discusses her own childhood dealing with self-esteem, premarital sex, family and personal relationships. About "What's Wrong With Me?"

Premarital sex. Drugs. Dating violence. Dropping out of school. So many choices, good and bad, are available for youth in America today, and girls continue to be especially vulnerable. They often blame themselves for things that go wrong in their lives, even when it s not their fault. They ask, What s wrong with me?, or they hear, What s wrong with you?! and brace themselves for the denigrating comments to follow. It s a timeless theme: girls grow up in every generation struggling with self-esteem, confidence, body image issues, uncertainty about dating, and insecurity about their identities. Where do they turn for answers or role models? Friends and peers don t make for such great influences and mentors when they are floundering themselves. Images of women of color in the media (TV and music videos) reinforce an impossible ideal and lack of self-esteem. How do girls today make decisions that will positively impact their future and not become victims of their surroundings? How can they affirm their Christianity proudly and not succumb to the deteriorating values of modern society? In this empowering Christian self-help book, Allen weaves her memoir from 20 years of journaling with lessons that still ring true for girls today, about such topics as accepting their identity, adopting a healthy body image, dating relationships, dealing with toxic friends and family members, avoiding or delaying premarital sex, building self-esteem, developing a positive attitude, dressing for success, setting goals, spending money wisely, handling anger and depression, and embracing their singleness, discovering their life purpose, and keeping God first.

Family Night Moive Review & Giveaway for A Mile in His Shoes

A Mile in His Shoes
Rated PG for some mild thematic elements
Genres: Drama/Family
Studio: Vivendi Entertainment
DVD Release Date: January 10, 2012
Run Time: 91 minutes
Buy it on Amazon

Storyline:
From the director of "Angels in the Outfield" comes an inspiring story about a special boy with an amazing gift, and the coach who believed. Dean Cain and Luke Schroder star in the gmc movie based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler"
Only a miracle can help baseball coach Arthur 'Murph' Murphy (Dean Cain) and his losing minor league baseball team. As Murph sets out to recruit new talent for the team, he stumbles upon Mickey (Luke Schroder), a young farmer with an incredible pitcher's arm. However, Mickey's parents are reluctant in allowing him to join the team because he has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism. Murph convinces Mickey's parents that life in the minor league will benefit their unique son, but he doesn't realize just how much his new recruit will help the team’s game and, more importantly, their spirit.

Based on a true story, Thomas Kinkade Presents: A Mile in His Shoes is an inspirational film that celebrates faith, determination and the power of friendship.
Our thoughts:
I love finding new movies for our family movie night. I am happy to say that A Mile in His Shoes will be added to our family movie night list. A Mile in His Shoes is clean and has a great story line. The movie is based off of the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler". I have not read this book but now I am going to have to go pick it up to see how much this movie was like the book.
As a reader I am going to read the book and see the movie again. In high school I took a class called pages to film where we would read and watch books that had been turned into movies. So I guess this is where that began.
This movie has a great story line for the whole family because it will hold the interest of men with sports and leave the ladies a little teary eyed. You also won’t have to worry about your children watching it with you as it is a clean movie. We give A Mile in His Shoes two thumbs up!
Giveaway:
One reader from Rambles of a SAHM will win a DVD copy of A Mile in His Shoes. Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below to be entered to win! US only. Giveaway ends 02/05/12 at 12:01 EST.

Fun Bites Product Review Great for picky eaters! @funbites

About FunBites:
At meals we would spend so much time cutting food into small shapes. Wouldn't it be easier if there was something we could just press down into their food and bippity boppity boo! Food would be made into bite-sized pieces? Maybe our kids would try new foods and eat better; maybe mealtime could be less stressful and more fun. Is that even possible?

Welcome to FunBites. It cuts food into bite-sized shapes. FunBites works on kid-friendly food from lunch meat and cheese to hamburgers, pancakes and fish. Jackie loves FunBites because the food is cut neatly and evenly. Dylan finally eats her food, real food, not junk food.
We just had to share FunBites with you. Maybe you have a kid like ours or maybe you simply want to add a little more fun and simplicity to your kitchen. We hope FunBites makes your mealtime more nutritious, a little easier and a lot more fun.

Our thoughts:
Little M is your classic picky preschooler. I have become a sneaky chef to get him to eat what I want him to eat. That is why I was very excited when I came across FunBites website. I knew I really wanted to review it. Our first try was a little messy. We used FunBites on a PBJ sandwich and while little M loved it I had peanut butter everywhere. Our next try we used it on cheese and fruit and it was perfect for that. My husband uses it when he makes little M pancakes.

One of my favorite part is that FunBites are safe for kids to use as they are made completely from hard plastic with no sharp metal. I also love that they are easy to clean and can be washed in the dishwasher! I also have noticed that little M is more excited to eat food that looks fun. Overall we give FunBites two thumbs up one from Mom and one from Little M.
