Review for Covillow the Nursing Cover with a Built in Pillow! @Covillow

About Covillow:
The Covillow, and its patented design, is the first and only of its kind, and gives breastfeeding mothers the privacy, comfort and convenience they need to confidently breastfeed in public. The name Covillow, pronounced cuvillow, combines the words cover and pillow together, and is the first product for Covillow, LLC. We are proud to say our products are handmade with love in the USA.
Breastfeeding is a special dedication that a mother has to her child and if you are able to breastfeed, Covillow, LLC wants to help you feel comfortable and confident enough to breastfeed anytime, anywhere. We want to help make sure your breastfeeding experience is the best it can be for as long as you want it to be and are proud to support mothers that breastfeed. At Covillow, LLC, we believe strongly in family and know that once you purchase a Covillow, you become part of our family.

My thoughts:
I love nursing. I nursed Little M and now I am nursing Little H. I don’t mind nursing in public but I want to make sure I am covered so as not to embarrass myself or anyone else.
Before Little H came I was researching nursing covers to see what was out there. That is when I came across Covillow. What really interested me was that it covered my back. I currently have two nursing covers that I love but I cannot nurse in a chair because people can see through the back and side since the cover only covers my front.

I love that Covillow covers me completely. I don’t have to worry if people can see my boobies if I am sitting in a chair! I love how the pillow is built in and the fabric is high quality and soft.  Covillow also offers many different designs and all are gorgeous.  The only con I have about Covillow is that it’s big since it has a pillow built in. So it has to be folded really well to fit into my diaper bag and it will not fit in my small diaper bag at all. I really think it is great to keep in the car and then when you go out you have it. Nothing is worse than having a screaming baby and a cover that does not completely cover.

Book Review Beauty for Ashes by Dorothy Love

Beauty for Ashes
Dorothy Love
Hickory Ridge Romance, Book 2
Fiction/Christian/Historical
Buy the book from Thomas Nelson

Back of the book:
After losing her husband in the Civil War, Carrie Daly is scared she will never have the family she longs for. Eligible bachelors are scarce in Hickory Ridge, Tennessee, but Carrie has found love. Not the weak-in-the-knees kind, but something practical. Still, she isn’t quite ready to set a wedding date with Nate Chastain.

Griff Rutledge is a former member of Charleston society, but has been estranged from his family for years. He’s determined to remain unattached, never settling in one place for too long. But when asked to train a Thoroughbred for an upcoming race in Hickory Ridge, he decides to stay awhile.

Despite objections from the townsfolk, and her fear that true happiness has eluded her, Carrie is drawn to Griff’s kindness and charm. It will take a leap of faith for them to open their hearts and claim God’s promise to give beauty for ashes.

About the Author:
Before returning to her writing roots in historical fiction, Dorothy Love published twelve novels for young adults. Her work has garnered numerous honors from the American Library Association, the Friends of American Writers, the International Reading Association, the New York Public Library, and many others. The Hickory Ridge Novels mark her Christian fiction debut.

My thoughts:
I must begin by saying that I think this story is better being read after reading the first in the series. The first book is entitled Beyond All Measure. There are many references in Beauty for Ashes to the first book in the series and I just think it would be more enjoyable to read them in order.

I enjoyed the storyline and the setting, but my favorite thing was the depth that the author gave her characters. She did a great job capturing the dynamics between family members. The tension between Carrie and Mary was very well written.

The end of the book was satisfying yet it left you with just enough of a cliffhanger to make you look forward to book three in the series. The note from the author in the back of the book said that the next book will be out a year from now. The note also gave interesting information on what parts of the book were based on facts and what parts were fictitious. This book also included discussion questions.

This is a series worth picking up especially if you enjoy Civil War era fiction.

About Sitz bath spray:

Motherlove's sitz bath combination in a convenient spray bottle! An essential item to have on hand after labor and child birth, this spray soothes sore perineal muscles, reduces swelling, slows bleeding, and helps ease the discomfort of hemorrhoids. Perfect for use with pads and when you don't have time for a longer sitz bath soak. Made with 100% certified organic ingredients.

My thoughts:
When I had my first birth my midwife brought me herbs for an herbal bath for after I gave birth. It was amazing. It smelled great and was very soothing.
With my second birth coming up I started to search for herbs and came across Motherlove.  Motherlove agreed to let me review their Sitz Bath Spray. When it came in the mail I opened it up and it smelled just like the herbal bath my midwife gave me. I could not wait to try it out.
The spray was very handy and I could experience relief wherever and whenever I needed it.  I really loved this spray when all the helped left and I didn’t have the time to take a bath. The only con I have is that the bottle does not spray when upside down and this can be annoying when you want to spray yourself. I do love this spray and will defiantly buy again. I only wish I could have had this with my first birth.

Giveaway: Motherlove has agreed to give one reader their best selling More Milk Plus! US only 18+ Ends 04/09/2012 12:01 am EST!

My thoughts:
When your little one gets a diaper rash it is always hard to give them a bath since their bottoms are so sore. I had seen Triple Wash at Walgreens and liked the idea but it was a pretty small bottle (8oz) for $9.99- $11.45. So when I came across Triple wash I was very interested in reviewing it and seeing if it worked.
First off I have to say that I LOVE this baby soap if it were sold in a bigger bottle at not such a steep price I would let my boys use Triple Wash at every bath. It works really well and smells great. It is very gentle and dye free. It doesn’t just work for diaper rash but also on baby acne, cradle cap, and heat rash. It really is amazing soap.
I will buy Triple Wash but will only use it when the boys have diaper rash and on little H to get rid of cradle cap. It is just too expensive to be our daily baby soap. I do love it and would recommend it to other moms! Don’t forget to print off the $1.50 off coupon before you go!

Blog Tour for Gabby's Stick to it Day by Sheila Walsh @Sheilawalsh

Gabby’s Stick-to-It Day: A Story About Never Giving Up
Sheila Walsh, Author
Natasha Kuricheva, Illustrator
God’s Little Princess Series, Book 2
Buy on Thomas Nelson

About the book:

Based on Galatians 6:9, this second title in Gabby’s series follows little Sophie on her quest to do kind things for her family. But each of Sophie’s good intentions results in a great, big mess-and a busy guardian angel as Gabby tries to keep the little girl from harm. Sophie quickly gets frustrated amidst each task and refuses to continue. Little ones will learn an important lesson on perseverance when Gabby whispers words from Galatians 6:9 into Sophie’s ear: “Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Young hearts will also be reminded of God’s continual protection over them in the form of angels, just as Gabby protects and encourages Sophie.

About Sheila:
Sheila Walsh is a Bible teacher, speaker, singer, and best-selling author with more than 4 million books sold. Sheila Walsh is the creator of the award-winning Gigi, God's Little Princess® brand, which has sold over 1.5 million units and won two National Retailer's Choice Awards. As a featured speaker with Women of Faith®, Sheila has reached more than 3.5 million women by artistically combining honesty, vulnerability and humor with God's Word. She resides in Dallas with her husband Barry and son Christian.
Visit www.sheilawalsh.com for more information about Sheila, her other books or Women of Faith.

My thoughts:

I fell in love with Gabby in the first book of this series. I was delighted to read this second installment to some very precious little girls in my life. The storyline continually reinforces how important it is to continue to do what is good and right no matter how hard it is or how tired we become.

Sheila Walsh has done a wonderful job of writing this in a manner that is easily understood by little girls. The language is at a level that 3 to 5 year olds can understand, but it is also a delight for the adult to read aloud as well.

Kuddos should also go to Natasha Kuricheva for her beautiful illustrations. I think we spent as much time discussing what was in the pictures as we did on the story itself. The story and the illustrations really do complement each other in this series.

This would be a great addition to any little girl’s library!

Blog Tour and Facebook Party for Sixty Acres and a Bride by Regina Jennings

Sixty Acres and a Bride
Regina Jennings
Historical Fiction
Buy the book on Amazon

Back of the book:
With nothing to their names, young widow Rosa Garner and her mother-in-law return to their Texas family ranch. Only now the county is demanding back taxes and the women have just three months to pay.

Though facing eviction, Rosa falls in love with the countryside and the wonderful extended family who want only her best. They welcome her vivacious spirit and try to help her navigate puzzling American customs. She can’t help but stand out, though, and her beauty captures attention. Where some offer help with dangerous strings attached, only one man seems honorable. But when Weston Garner, still grieving his own lost love, is unprepared to give his heart, Rosa must decide to what lengths she will go to save her future.

About the Author:

Regina Jennings is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in English and a history minor. She has worked at The Mustang News and First Baptist Church of Mustang, along with time at the Oklahoma National Stockyards and various livestock shows. She now lives outside Oklahoma City with her husband and four children. Meet Regina here.
Learn more about Regina by visiting her website, www.reginajennings.com.

My thoughts:

Sixty Acres and a Bride is the debut novel of Regina Jennings. It is a wonderful retelling of the Ruth, Naomi and Boaz story from the Bible. The author has changed the location and time frame and added in a few other details that make the story plausible in that setting. I completely lost myself in this story. Because I am very familiar with the original storyline, I knew where this was going, but I still enjoyed the tale that the author wove together.

Many seasoned authors would tell you that there is always room to improve on their craft. While I agree with that statement, I must say that Regina has done an amazing job for a first work. I am really looking forward to reading whatever else she puts on paper. I didn’t feel as if the words were stumbling or halting, instead they flowed and drew you from page to page and chapter to chapter. I stayed up way too late finishing this one!

Covers rarely sway me whether to read the book or not. But I must say this cover is beautiful. I love the muted colors and the fact that you don’t get a full on glimpse of Rosa’s face. I prefer to conjure up a description of the characters in my mind. I look forward to sharing this title with my friends and fellow book clubbers. You can’t go wrong with this one, so pick it up!
