Keep an eye on baby with Sweet Peek + Giveaway! #BabyExtravaganza

Disclosure:You are about to read a product review. Kim received the product{s} reviewed free of charge in exchange for her honest opinion.

Having kids makes me nervous. I like to watch them, especially my two girls. They are monkeys and get into everything. Having a baby video monitor is my number 1 thing to have.

Party of 5 was sent the Lorex Sweet Peek Infant Video Monitor to review. This monitor is not out on the market yet so we got to test it first hand!

Lorex Baby brings to us an amazing video baby monitor. This monitor is not yet on the market so I was super excited to try it out. 4.0 isn't here yet but we have been having an issue with my dog going on my couch so I set up the monitor in out living room to catch him in action!

Before I talk about the quality of the Lorex Sweet Peek monitor I want to go into the features

2.4" Portable LCD monitor
Crystal Clear Night Vision
Digital Zoom
Two Way Talk
Soothing Lullabies
Built in Nightlight
Crisp Sound
450 ft Outdoor wireless range
Accommodates up to 4 cameras
8 hours of battery life

Here is what's inside the box

 1 Wireless Camera
1 2.4" LCD monitor
2 power adaptors
1 mounting kit
1 manual

Set up was super easy: I just took everything out of the box and inserted the battery into the monitor and plugged everything in

The camera is nice and slim and doesn't take up much space at all. I love that there is a built in nightlight. normally I leave a light on in our living room when we got downstairs at night but now I can turn off the big lights and leave on the Sweet Peek nightlight and have just enough light to see where we are walking.

The picture quality is awesome!

+
The handheld monitor displays the temperature on the screen so you can be sure that baby is comfortable. You can even set it to go off if it gets too hot or cold.

There is a zoom and slight pan option on the Sweet Peek monitor. It's not a complete pan but it is a decent one.
You can check out my video review below.

Buy It: You can purchase the Sweet Peek Video Monitor for $179.95 on Amazon.com

Win It: ONE Lucky reader is going to win the Sweet Peek monitor! There is a catch: The monitor isn't available until the end of May so you will have to wait a tad for it to be shipped!

You have been waiting and now it is here ~ Always the Baker, Finally the Bride

Disclosure *I was given a copy of this book. All thoughts are from @FitzysMom of Rambles of a SAHM

Sandra Bricker
Contemporary Fiction

About the book:

In Always the Baker, Never the Bride, readers fell in love with Emma Rae and Jackson, and they’ve gotten more acquainted with them in the two books that followed.

But now it’s time for the diamond to meet the road as Jackson fields an offer to sell The Tanglewood, a move that will uproot this high-flying family act once and for all. Get reacquainted with all of the lovable and quirky characters from the first three books as your favorite diabetic baker figures out if she'll achieve her greatest goal of all: Will Emma, at last, become FINALLY the Bride?

 About the Author:

Twitter: @SandieBricker

For more than a decade, Sandra D. Bricker lived in Los Angeles. While honing her chosen craft of screenwriting in every spare moment, she worked as a personal assistant and publicist to some of daytime television's hottest stars. When her mother became ill in Florida, she put Southern California in her rearview mirror and moved across the country to take on a new role: Caregiver.

"I guess most people would see my career as a publicist as a sort of dream job. But giving it up turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me!" she declares. "Not only was I given the gift of getting to know my mother as an adult woman before she passed away, but I was also afforded the blessing of being able to focus completely on my dream of a writing career."

The author says that it was her 8th novel that opened the door to finding her way as a writer. "I'm a Christian woman, first and foremost," she says. "So it was a bit of a dream-come-true when Summerside Press chose me as one of two authors to launch the Love Finds You line."

Sandie's real-life role as cancer survivor has parlayed into her steadfast commitment to raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Spearheading a series of devotionals for Summerside Press (such as the popular His Grace is Sufficient...Decaf is Not), the author has stipulated that a portion of each contributor's proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

My thoughts:

Three years ago I opened the pages of Always the Baker, Never the Bride and fell in love with Emma Rae, Jackson and the Tanglewood Inn. How could I help myself? The characters were zany yet loveable. The setting was absolutely magical. And the storyline was witty and fast-paced. All the makings of the perfect lazy afternoon read.

Over the following years Sandra Bricker gave us the next two installments, Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride and Always the Designer, Never the Bride. Each of these books added to the depth of the relationship between Emma and Jackson while introducing us to new people and new stories.

Now we’ve come to the end, but oh what an ending! Without giving anything away let me just say that the wedding scene is more than worth the wait. This last installment takes us on a sentimental journey that involves all the people we’ve come to know and love.  I enjoy the way that each person is allowed to show their strong side and their vulnerable side. There are unique types like Fee and very sophisticated individuals like Jackson’s sisters. I have to say that my favorite person besides the main characters was Aunt Sophie. We all need an Aunt Sophie in our lives.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good love story. This is the series that my book club broke our rule of never reading the sequels. We just couldn’t resist! I think each of you will be just as delighted as we were. Start from the beginning, make some of the recipes, enjoy the advice sprinkled throughout and you’ll see exactly why the Tanglewood Inn is where we all want to escape to.

Do you tend to go out to eat a lot? Travel to Grandma's house for dinner? Are you always searching for a place for your child to sit at the table? I have the answer for you. Guzzie + Guss The Perch!!!

The G+G201 Perch Table Chair is a super modern portable chair.

Not only is it modern it is super easy to use.

You just take The Perch out of the included travel bag, seperate the legs and attach to your table.

Stock photo from the guzzie + Guss website

My table at home is strange and has this super huge lip so nothing attaches to it. We tried so you could get the idea but I felt it wasn't safe to show the photos. The Perch was designed with an amazing 10cm of clamp clearance and should fit most tables.

The black storage bag is super nice and The Perch fits in nicely.

That is The Perch before it was unfolded. Nothing complicated, infact it was so easy I did it!

Look at that! A 5 point harness to keep baby safe while sitting at the table! That is a huge plus for me, especially since I have little monkeys!

Above is the crotch area. The fabric is nice and not scratchy like some of the other portable chairs.
Now here are some specs:

The Perch hold up to 37lbs! That is alot in my book as one that we had with my son only held 25lbs!My girls are 35 and 33 lbs and can still sit in The Perch.

Age range is from 0-3 years
The Perch weighs only 7lbs
Comes in 4 color options including 1 leatherette option

I love The Perch and have used in with Olivia at restaurants and can not be more pleased with the ease of use.

An easy way to carry baby ~ Baby K'tan Carrier + Giveaway #BabyExtravaganza

Trisha of Momma T and Family recently received a Baby K'tan Carrier for review for the Baby Extravaganza Event which is being co-hosted by Momma T and Family, Rambles of a SAHMMy Four Littles and Party of 5! You can read her review below and enter to win too.

*Disclosure: The opinions expressed in this review are those of Trishia from Momma T & Family. Products were provided.

I've talked about babywearing on the blog before and currently own or have owned a few different carriers which include soft structured carriers, slings, mei tais and soft stretchy wraps. When E was an infant, I loved using soft stretchy wraps! The first carrier I ever owned was a popular stretchy wrap but unfortunately, I had to stop using stretchy wraps because she outgrew them and when I would wear her, the wrap would sag.

A few months back I heard about the Baby K'tan Carrier, a soft cotton baby carrier that is a blend of a sling, wrap and carrier. The K'tan provides the positions and benefits of all three types of carriers and can be worn comfortably with infants and toddlers (from birth to 3 years) in multiple positions.

The Baby K'tan is available in sizes XS, Small, Medium, Large and XL and. You can view the size chart on the Baby K'tan website where you can find the sizing chart and sizing tips. The carrier is also available in several colors and styles which can also be found on the website.

The Baby K'tan consists of two pieces, The carrier and a sash which doubles as a storage tote when your Baby K'tan is not in use.

The Baby K'tan is super easy to get on. I'm more of a visual person so I found the visual instructions on the Baby K'tan website and the video tips very helpful.

I was nervous to use the Baby K'tan because I was afraid that my 28 pound toddler was going to stretch it out. When I found out that the carrier is able to withstand up to 35 pounds I was relieved. I spoke to Reina of Baby K'tan who suggested two positions, the hip position and the two-hip position which are great for those moments when your little one wants to be held. These carries are meant more short term use, for example, if you're little one is upset and wants to be held but you need your hands free.

I really like the Two-Hip hold which is very simple! You start out with the Hug Position instructions and right before you would tie the sash, You shift your baby (or in my case toddler) to your side so that their legs are straddling your hip. Afterwards, you would continue with the Hug Hold Instructions and tie the sash. You can check out E and I below using the Two-Hip hold!

*Disclosure: The opinions expressed in this review are those of Kim from Party of Five. Products were provided.

Kim is here with a great review and giveaway for a Travel Crib. Enjoy and be sure to enter!!!

Do you travel a lot? We do mostly in the Spring/Summer. We have a place in the Poconos and love spending family time there. All of my Husbands's family own property as well as my parents so it's one big giant family affair. We don't have our own place there just yet so it's a tad tight for sleeping quarters.

My kids all share the bedroom with the 2 sets of bunk beds. Well, honestly my son usually stays at my parents or his cousins place so it's just the girls. When they were little we had a ginourmous pack n play that was a pain to set up, especially if the girls fell asleep.

With the new babe we knew we needed a much simpler solution. Low and behold, I came across the  BABYBJÖRN Travel Crib Light 2

The BABYBJÖRN Travel Light Crib 2 is super light and easy to set up. The Travel Light Crib 2 weighs 11 pounds and the case has a handle which makes it super easy to carry.

Being 5 months pregnant I found the Travel Light Crib 2 super light and easy to set up.

Set up is super easy: it just takes one simple movement and you are all set. Here is a video of my Hubs setting up the Travel Light Crib 2.

The Travel Light Crib 2 can be used from birth until around the age of 3. We put Olivia in { she wouldnt let me take a picture! } and she fit fine.

My favorite part about the Travel Light Crib 2 is not only the ease of set up but the fact that everything fits right back into the carrying bag, including the mattress!!

Yep, you heard right, the BABYBJÖRN Travel Light Crib 2 comes with a mattress.

The mattress has a built in base which keeps the crib standing firmly. I love the quality of the Travel Light Crib 2 and cannot wait until 4.0 is here to use it.

That's my Hubs folding up the Travel Light Crib 2. It took him 2 seconds!

Measurements
Mattress: 24 x 41 x 1.2 in/60 x 105 x 3 cm. Assembled: 32 x 44 x 24 in/82x 112 x 64cm.
Folded in bag: 19 x 24 x 6 in/49 x 60 x 14 cm.
Weight: 11 lbs/5 kg.

Party of 5 HIGHLY recommends the BABYBJÖRN Travel Light Crib 2 for all expecting parents!
{ even the seasoned parents }Make sure you stay connected with BABYBJÖRN on Facebook, Twitter , and Pinterest!!!

Forget the Zombies, Don’t Become a Mombie!

Yesterday I was reading an article on zombies in the workplace and while I don’t think I’ve become a zombie I realized I had become a “Mombie”. In other words I was acting like motherhood was meant to be done alone and in a zoned out state. If you are reading this and you yourself have become a “Mombie” then keep reading there is hope for you! J

When you are a stay at home mom you tend to stay home a lot. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but it can become a bad habit. In our modern world it is very easy to become isolated without even realizing it. I have online friends (in all time zones), I can have food delivered, I can shop online and have the items delivered straight to my door. The world is literally at my fingertips. People are just one click away!

However, this can never replace real life friends. Yes, online people are real but let’s be honest there is a lot we can hide on the internet. We tend to only let others peer into our life through what we deem okay. For instance you will never see a messy photo of my house on my blog because although it may be real I am not okay with the world viewing into my train wreck! The truth about blogs is that they are similar to reality TV as in, yes you see bits and pieces of reality but never do you really get the entire story or the real day to day experience. So next time you read a stellar post I want you to understand it is a presentation and not “reality” so don’t beat yourself up over it. Same goes for pinterest!
Now back to getting yourself out of “Mombie” mode…

Recently I had a friend ask my children and I to dinner and a play date. At first I was like gosh I have so much work to do and PR people are  wanting XYZ posted and I haven’t even edited XYZ photos for the post…then feeling guilty I said okay sounds good. I rounded up the kids and 30 minutes later we were ready to go.

My friend and I fed our kids, and then while they were playing in the play place we had wonderful conversation that involved a lot of “yeah me too” affirmations. It was great and I realized then the power of a “yeah me too in PERSON”. There is nothing that can replace that. You see as stay at home moms we need to realize we are each other’s coworkers. Just as our hubbies need coworkers to share the workload burdens, we too need each other as coworkers in motherhood!

I came home feeling like the unending tasks like dishes, laundry, picking up toys, changing the diapers again day in and day out became so much more manageable.  What changed? Did my laundry get done? Did my dishes magically put themselves away??? I WISH… but no! What changed is that I realized I am not a “Mombie” alone in this world wondering how the heck I am going to do another load of laundry. I have coworkers doing the same exact thing day after day and my burden of motherhood was lifted!

My advice to you is call a friend and get out of the house for no other reason than leaving the house. It doesn’t have to be expensive, pack a picnic and go to the park together. It doesn’t matter what you do just make the effort and go do it. You and your children will benefit from it.

My little reprieve from the “Mombies” came none too soon. That same evening right after I put my babies to bed I started another load of the unending laundry and in the process knocked over a full bottle of bleach that spilled all over colored clothes and sheets. Isn’t God good to allow this to happen AFTER my refreshing time away from it all?!!  So there is my little “reality” for you today! Now go schedule a play date with some other “Mombies” who need to meet with their coworkers in motherhood!

Best,
RambleSAHM

Keeping Baby Warm with JJ Cole Urban Bundle Me

*Disclosure: The opinions expressed in this review are those of Kim from Party of Five. Products were provided.

Kim is here with two great giveaways for both my and baby! Enjoy.

I am a busy Mom of 3 kids, soon to be 4! We are often on the go, weather it be Baseball practice, games, dance class or finding cool places to take the kids. During the cooler months it's hard to keep a new baby bundled up the correct way without doing the MAJOR No-No's. It is NOT safe to have baby in a coat in either the infant seat or a car seat. To solve that problem we use the JJ Cole Urban Bundle Me!

I know you may be thinking, " A Bundle Me, now in April?" Yes, I am due in September and weather we believe it or not, it's coming fast! { trust me, my countdown is quickly reaching the 100 day mark!}

I need something that will keep this babe nice and warm especially during the Fall baseball season and the upcoming winter months.

We were sent the Urban Bundle Me in Nordic Blue to review. We had an Original Bundle Me when Olivia was born and LOVED it. It attaches to the car seat super easy, within 2 minutes and allows the straps to rest directly on the child.

Here I simply unzipped the Urban Bundle Me and placed on the infant seat.

I attached the strap around the back of the infant seat. {shown here is a Graco }

Then I simply placed the car seat straps to my desired height level and secured the velcro in the back.

Easy peasy!

After I zipped the Urban Bundle Me back up and Viola! All set for babe!

There is a small pocket on the side which zippers and is perfect for storing your keys.

The quilted outer nylon of the Urban Bundle Me protects against wind and rain while the luxuriously soft inner thermaplush™ adds style and warmth.
• use with car seats, strollers, and joggers
• wind and water resistant
• machine washable
• removable top for easy temperature control
• allows safety straps to rest directly on child
• crash tested- FMVSS 213 (more info)
The Urban Bundle Me comes in two sizes Infant $49.05 and Toddler $59.95. It also comes in 7 color choices!

Now, when you are out and about with 4 kids, 3 of which are under 5 you need a super stylish, functional diaper bag, right? I was sent the JJ Cole Caprice Bag in Silver Drop to review.

I am in LOVE with this bag. There are pockets everywhere! I always tend to carry way too much stuff and always need extra room. With the Caprice Diaper Bag, the room is there.

The front has a nice zippered compartment to store some credit cards/store loyalty cards plus some cash tucked away in the other pocket. This is super helpful to me since I can never find my wallet in any diaper bag I have ever owned!

another zippered pocket

and another. These aren't super deep but things like pacifiers and such can be stored in them.

There are two insulated bottle pockets { 1 on each side }

In the above spot there is a changing pad that fits easily inside.

The changing pad is a nice size for infants.

Inside the Caprice Diaper Bag there are 4, yes 4 pockets for storage and organization. Whoohoo for an organized diaper bag!

The JJ Cole Caprice Diaper Bag also comes with a super nice padded shoulder strap that can be removed if desired.

And 2 grips { stroller attachments }

Here they are attached to the stroller, This makes keeping your bag at your fingers much easier and the basket in your stroller free for other items.

High fashion meets function in this stylish tote. Choose from three carrying options including stroller straps, a padded shoulder strap, and tote handles. Ten pockets inside and out allow you to keep everything at your fingertips, all while looking effortlessly chic.
• spacious interior with multiple organizational compartments
• easy-access exterior pockets for wallet and cell phone
• insulated side bottle pockets
• removable, adjustable shoulder strap
• includes Grips™ stroller attachments and coordinating changing pad

The JJ Cole Caprice Diaper bag comes in 4 different designs/patterns and retails for $69.95
BUY IT: You can purchase the JJ Cole Urban Bundle Me for Infants for $49.95 and the Caprice Diaper Bag for $69.95
WIN IT:

ONE Lucky reader is going to win BOTH the JJ Cole Urban Bundle Me AND the JJ Cole Caprice Diaper Bag in your choice of color and print!! OPEN TO US ONLY { sorry Canadian Friends }
